Simulated diamonds are also known as diamond simulants and include things like cubic zirconia (CZ), moissanite, and YAG. They can also include some natural clear gemstones like white sapphire, white zircon or even clear quartz. Simulated diamonds do not possess the chemical and physical properties of actual diamonds, so they generally sell for a relatively low cost. A simulated diamond is merely a substance that may look like a diamond, but does not possess all the same properties as a diamond. These are commonly known as cubic zirconia or moissanite, though other substances can also be considered simulants. These can be found usually for a couple dollars to a couple hundred dollars for a one carat equivalent. Synthetic diamonds on the other hand are real diamonds. They are made of carbon in a process diamonds naturally grow under. They are most commonly available in yellow and blue colors, with white being quite rare, and are at least a few thousand dollars per carat.

What is a simulated diamond?

A simulated diamond looks similar to a diamond and its physical and chemical properties are different to a diamond and are much cheaper than a regular diamond. A simulated diamond is a lot cheaper than a natural diamond and you can buy one that is the same size of a natural one at a much lower price.
