The answer is no, but this deserves some explanation.

Tone is important in spanish to pronounce words correctly, because every spanish word is stressed at one particular syllable. But! This does not transform spanish into a tone language, because a variation of the correct "tone" of a word just makes it incorrectly pronounced. It does NOT change the meaning.

Of course, there are some cases where you do change the meaning if you stress the wrong syllable, but these cases are rare. Not nearly enough to transform spanish into a tone language.
