The Corporation of General Motors was only started in 1918 after McLaughlin in Canada merged both his Companies and made it General Motors of Canada Limited and sold off the Chevrolet stock to allow General Motors to incorporate after in 1918. General Motors of Canada Limited is today a Privately owned Canadian Company 2012 and the Corporation is the indirect Parent .( McLaughlin became Director in 1908 and in 1918 was Vice-President and director of the Corporation of General Motors) The American History is in bad need of correcting General Motors History as GM Historians have been paid to embellish the History and will not correct it.
