Well I used to wear one, or a modified one for reinactments. You had pantaloons, undershirt, and a corset (for rich) for the first layer. Say that's about a pound to a pound an a half. Then you had a shift or another thin dress. That's about another pound. If you were a poor woman the last part was your outter dress, about another pound. If you were rich then next you had the hoop depending on age and style it was one to about five pounds. Then you had another dress. Another pound. Then your last dress about three to twn pounds depending how royal you were and how much was done to the dress. All in all a poor person wore three pounds and a royal one wore up to about 7 to 13 pounds if you were royal and 2 to 3 if you werent. But it also doesnt count the head dresses and it all depends on weath and style of gowns.
