Wine bottle sizes are measured in liters. The majority of wine bottles are 750 millileters. I believe you may be refering to magnum sized wine bottles which are twice the size of standard wine bottles (1500 ML or 1.5 liters)

You have to convert milliliters to ounces:

1 Milliliter = 0.033 ounces

Standard sized wine bottle: 750 ML

750 X 0.033 = approx. 24.75

Magnum sized wine bottle: 1500 ML

1500 X 0.033 = approx. 49.50

There are larger bottles such as the double magnum (3,000 ML or 3L). Double magnums is a very rare size, and you will usually see only one in the window of a very fine wine store.
