Nobody knows how many for sure, but there are certainly thousands.

You've got to remember, fossils aren't necessarily whole skeletons, they might be sections of bone, a single tooth, a fossilised egg, or even a whole nest. Sometimes we get lucky and find whole skeletons, or even scenes from the past, such as a mother looking after her eggs, who died in a sandstorm, or a triceratops and a velociraptor who both died from the wounds they inflicted on each other, fossilised as a single scene, locked in combat even in death.

There are so many different varieties of dinosaur that we have discovered, and so many examples of each species, or pieces of examples, that we can't possibly be sure how many there even are. Some people say we have even only discovered 1% of all dinosaur species! So sorry, no-one really knows.

Hope this helped! :)

fossils are any kind of living thing including plants and animals. so fossils are from any living thing that was alive before us. fossils can be made when a living creature dies and its body is covered by a mud slide or if it simply falls into the water. now if it is in the water in time fish and other living things will eat its skin and mussels and the bones will be lost for-ever in the mud waiting to be found by us. if it dies in a mud slide or sand storm then it will be locked in ground. these are the most impressive kind of fossil scientists have found dinosaur fossils that have hearts, intestine , and other organs. these are the best and most useful finds that help us learn more about the monsters that once lived on what we call earth. hope this answers your question!

It would be difficult to know this. Dinosaur fossils have been found on all the continents. If you mean each individual bone, the number would be in the thousands, but if you mean complete skeletons, the number would be smaller, because complete skeletons are rare.

What was the first ever dinosaur?

That depends on what you mean. The first Dinosaur discovered by scientists and named was Megalosaurus. But many believe that ancient civilizations based myths of dragons, griffens, sea serpents, Gods, etc, on Dinosaur fossils. The first Dinosaur to appear, as in the oldest Dinosaur, was Herrarasaurus. But older Dinosaur fossils may be found, so we can never be certain.
