just open glove box completely out its behind there Go to www.autozone.com where they have a great repair section that is pretty much the Haynes auto repair book online and best of all it's free. They should be able to tell you how to do any repair.

Your resistor is probably bad. Order a new one on line and replace it yourself. The resistor is located right next to the heater blower, which is under the dash, under the glove box.
Dust from drywall cutting for example is fine enough to get into the blower fan motor and cause a squeaking noise. You'll need to replace the fan if this is the case.

Behind the glove box.Remove the glove box and on top of the duct work for your heat is a little black box,that is your relay.Unplug it and replace it,plug the new one back in and your ready to go.

The Mercury Cougar blower motor is located on the firewall in the engine compartment. The blower motor can be seen on the passenger side of the firewall.

had the same problem with my 1988 g20 van it is the ground wire on the blower where it connects to the blower itself take out the blower and the ground wire is attached with a rivet which works lose and breaks the connection replace it with a screw ect that fits tight and that should fix it (replace blower in housing) ......... HI, Can you explain this in more detail please?.....Like where is the wire exactly that I have to look for....so to speak......where is it located at?.....Thank you.
