∙ 13y agoOk first of all you need to find an abase electric meter.The best one is a two wire 120 volt.You need to mount it on a board .Go to your local hardware store and buy lamp hardware.Ok back to wiring the meter looking at the meter their are four connections under the chamber cover.IMPORTANT NOTE : From left to right Line, Neutral,Neutral,Load.Get a piece of lamp cord figure out how long you need to plug into wall.Seperate the end strip the wire ends figure out the line and neutral the large side of the plug end is the neutral ,follow that back to the end of the wire you just stripped,that would go the your first neutral connection,the other wire is line.Get another piece of lamp cord run that thru your lamp post.Get instructions on how to wire a light bulb socket.Ok your other piece of lamp cord connects one to neutral and one to the load connector.Turn on the lamp the meter disc should turn to the right.On a real old meter the disc could turn to the left.
