I just got finished doing this. There should be 3 prongs on the switch. The way I did it you need to run 4 wires, 3 to the toggle switch, one from the ground of the fan, to the ground wire of the battery. After that you need to ground the switch(there will be an etching/sticker that tells you which is which on the switch). Run a wire from positive from the battery to the switch. Make sure you install an inline fuse, 25 amps should be good. After that run another positive from the remaining prong, to the fan, and things should starts spinning and blowing air. Good luck.

How do you wire a rocker switch to radiator fan on a Grand Am?

to shut the fans on and off by yourself. remove the connector for the wires at the fan. hook a wire from the positive on fan motor to the inside toggle switch, do not hook to switch yet. run a wire from the positive on battery, hook to battery after hooking up switch. hook up the wires to the switch. then the battery. its up to you if you want to install a 15 amp fuse in line from battery to toggle switch.. you can also get the power from the fuse box instead of the battery. this should work for you. if not you may need to ground the other fan wire.

How do you remove the neutral safety switch on a mx6 Mazda 89 auto tran?

The autos do not have a safety switch....They have a sensor located in the trans itself that tells the ecu if its in neutral/park.....I believe its a 3 pin plug going into the trans itself,.....trace it and see where it leads.....You may be able to hook up a toggle switch..

How do you hook a toggle switch up for the cooling fan for a 1997 Pontiac Sunfire?

Let me ask you this, have you checked the related parts to the cooling fan system before going to a toggle? In most cases a switch is not an ideal solution. Sure, you can switch it on when the temps start climbing, but are you going to pay attention to switch it off again when they fall? The computer expects a certain engine temperature to be able to operate effeciently and running the engine too cool could keep the computer in cold start-up mode. The most common parts involved in the cooling fan system are the coolant temperature sensor (same sensor that feeds the computer), the fan relay, and the radiator fan itself. While it's not impossible that something else could be the problem, one of these is probably it.Answer AGAIN THIS IS NOT A GREAT IDEA BUT IMA ANSWER YOUR QUESTION ON YOUR FAN ONE WIRE IS POSITIVE AND 1 NEG CUT INTO THE POSITIVE RUN WIRE FROM + OF FAN TO INSIDE CAR HOOK TO SWITCH NOW HOOK ANOTHER WIRE TO SWITCH AND RUN TO + OF BATTERY. IF YOU GET ONLINE AND EDUCATE YOURSELF ON HOW THESE FANS WORK ITS VERY EASY TO FIX THESE MOST TIMES ITS A RELAY GONE BAD
