I know that if it gets too cold or too hot the amoeba will try to make away from it. If they do not move fast enough they will die because it is too cold or hot.
I'm only in grade 8 so my answer is not that sophisticated.
Nerves carry messages to the muscles to react. Nerves help us feel pain, heat, and cold.
the chemicals inside react to create the cold
Amoebas have taxes similar to speed or direction of movement
A Rock contracts with cold, and expands with heat.
Corrosion is a chemical reaction. The vast majority of chemical reactions are speeded up by the input of heat. The energy from the heat causes the particles to move faster and thus react faster.
Cobalt does not react with cold water. With extreme heat, CoO can form.
Cold causes matter to contract. Heat causes matter to expand.
If you heat up aluminum and then place it in cold water it can dissolve.
Zinc does react with cold water - it just does so very slowly. Steam is water that is very hot and thus as with any chemical reaction, the heat gives the molecules more energy and so they react faster.

Our bodies are perfectly normal with heat and cold at the same time. Heat increases the flow of blood while cold decreases the flow of blood, so when they are both together reacting at the same time, basically the flow of blood is going at a normal rate
Unicellular organisms are able to move towards and away from heat just like animals can. So if the temperature is too severe then the organism can move away. However most unicellular organisms like to live in severe temperatures.
alkali metals react violently in cold water

Amoebas are classified as protists.
All metals, if they do react with water at all, react faster in steam than in water. However, the metals that react SLOWLY with cold water are the metals from Group-IIA(Magnesium, Calcium, etc).
They shiver
