Odysseus was the master strategist who devised the Trojan Horse scam when the Achaeans had given up hope of breaching the city's walls.
Poseidon did not play really any role in the Trojan war but in the Odyssey he cursed Odysseus and created almost all of the problems he had to face.
To give wisdom to Odysseus on his journey back from the Trojan war
Athena gave wisdom to Odysseus on his journey back from the Trojan War.
Ulysses, or Odysseus, was the King of Ithaca who led his men as an ally to Agamemnon and Menelaus (along with the other members of the Oath of the Horse). He was also the mastermind behind the Trojan Horse.
He was one if Helen's old suitors, all of which has sworn an oath to back Helen's husband to defend her honour, so when Paris abducted Helen he was forced to fight in the war. Odysseus led the armies of Ithaca in a pact to retrieve the kidnapped wife of Menelaus (Helen) back from the Trojan prince Paris. Odysseus is the iconic bronze-age Greek hero. Although physically shorter in stature than some of the other prominent heroes of the Trojan War, he was broadly-built and extremely crafty. It is this characteristic of cunning which is Odysseus' hallmark. The ruse of the Trojan Horse was the product of Odysseus' skillful imagination.

Nestor describes Odysseus as a brave and cunning warrior, known for his leadership skills and strategic thinking during the Trojan War. He highlights Odysseus's intelligence and resourcefulness, emphasizing his role in the success of the Greek army.
I think but I am not 100% sure but I think Odysseus and Achilles played a role about the same. Though the two stories the odyssey and Achilles take place about the same time historians have not proven that yet. I would say though that it was Odysseus because of the aspect of that he didn't die tradict as Achilles did. (for those who don't know Achilles was shot in the heel with a poison tipped arrow and some say he was stabbed in the back) though Odysseus went through a lot such as the giant and the hydra he is still my opinion the best role of the Trojan war.
Odysseus is viewed as cunning, resourceful, and brave by other characters in Greek mythology. He is often admired for his intelligence, leadership skills, and strategic thinking, as demonstrated in his role in the Trojan War and his journey home in "The Odyssey."
the trojan hero
The true son of King Odysseus is Telemachus. He is mentioned in Homer's epic poem, "The Odyssey," as Odysseus' only legitimate son, born to him and his wife, Penelope, before Odysseus went off to fight in the Trojan War. Telemachus plays an important role in the epic as he embarks on a journey to search for his father and ultimately becomes a key figure in Odysseus' return to Ithaca.
He had an idea to make the Trojan Horse.
In "The Odyssey," Circe is very important in determining the fate of Odysseus. After he had conquered the goddess, he lived very happily with her for a year. She released his men from the spell that turned them into swine and offered him two alternative routes of passage, as well as very helpful information on the underworld.
