I believe that cancer does make your WBC lower.
Platelet counts, wbc and rbc counts and hgb determinations

Mildly low WBC counts are usually the result of low-grade viral infections. Even the common cold (rhinovirus) can precipitate mildly low WBC counts. (Also, on the differential, the lymphocyte portion of the WBC count is often somewhat elevated.)

Postmenopausal women with elevated white blood cell (WBC) counts appear to be at increased risk of developing certain types of cancer, including breast, colorectal, endometrial, and lung cancers, a new study shows. Higher WBC counts also raise the risk of dying from cancer, according to the study. The proportion of white blood cells (WBC) in the circulation can be used as an indicator of infection or inflammation. read more about breast cancer at http://cancerlinks.blogspot.com/
yes. normal wbc counts are below 10000. you have a bacterial infxn
If the platelet clumps are large enough, an automated blood analyzer may mistake them for WBCs, causing a falsely high WBC count. The platelet count will be decreased if there is a lot of clumping.
The difference between the two is that the RBC Diluting pipette counts the erythrocytes (Red blood cells) while the other one counts the leukocytes (White blood cells) and that the pipette (RBC) itself has a more circular body compared to WBC diluting pipete. On the other hand, WBC diluting pipette has a pointed tip unlike the RBC Diluting pipette. -Fer Philippines <3
Yes. A WBC count of 2.3 is potentially problematic (no matter what your weight is). Check with your physician, as soon as possible, regarding the underlying cause of your leukopenia. Certain medications can cause WBC counts to drop. Also, certain pathologic conditions, including significant viral infections (among others) can cause low WBC counts, as well.
is wbc of 20.3 high
Maybe, but not always. Decreased WBC counts have been reported for patients receiving tegretol. While it is unlikely that a slight decrease in the white blood cell count will lead to more serious conditions, like aplastic anemia, it is advisable to monitor the patient closely to detect any significant changes.
