Yes, it was. It was changed to Eastern time many years ago because the politicians thought it would help businesses and industry. We are now almost a full hour off sun time to begin with. Makes no sense. I hate it.

The Louisville area switched from Central Time to Eastern Time in 1961.

Wayne County, on the Tennessee border, switched from Central Time to Eastern Time in 2000.

The counties currently along the Central Time side of the time zone boundary are Breckinridge, Grayson, Hart, Green, Adair, Russell and Clinton.

The counties currently along the Eastern Time side of the time zone boundary are Meade, Hardin, Larue, Taylor, Casey, Pulaski and Wayne.
