Yes! Because for two reasons. One, you have to have a report filed with Law Enforcement, otherwise the insurance company will not cover it! Secondly, there are still a couple of citations that can still be written on private property!
You can't unless they tell you who they are insured with. Who a person is insured with or even if they have insurance is a private matter between the insured and the insurance company. Now, if there is an accident and the police come to the scene they will collect that information and put it in the accident report. This is why it is crucial to always call the police to the scene of the accident no matter how much the other person begs to give them a break. Always, always!!! call the police to the scene of an accident. The exception is if the accident is on private property.
Call the police
1. Leave vehicle where you were hit. 2. Call the police 3. Exchange info with other driver 4. Get a witness or witnesses as someone saw it happen 5. Police will write a "no fault" report since accident is on private property (in my case, parking lot at work) 6. If police asks you and other driver to "work it out between you" as your rates will go up - be very cautious!!!!! 7. Call your insurance company Accidents happen in parking lots all to often. Even though it is on private property always get a police report and information from the other driver. Be sure to talk to the police officer in front of the other driver and make sure you are with the other driver as they talk to the officer.
if it is private property yes. If you live in a complex that has security guards, you can keep them off to an extent. If its private property, I would suggest to notify them that it is private and you want them to leave. If they do not leave you have the right to call the police and have trespassing charges brought against them.
Call the police and get a police report. Call your insurance company and report it to them asap.
right away
Contact the police, call for help, and call insurance.

Call the police.
I take it you were involved in an accident and don't know the name of the insurance company who insured the at fault driver. You have to get this information from the police. If you didn't involve the police trying to be nice to the person that hit you then you might learn an important lesson. A person who causes an accident is under no obligation to disclose if or who they are insured with to anyone other than a law enforcement officer. Always, always call the police to the scene of an accident no matter how minor! The one and only exception may be an occurence on private property. On some occasions the police may be too busy to respond but then they will tell you so.
Do not leave the scene. Call the police immediately!! After which you would contact your insurance company. Leaving the scene of an accident is a felony in most state in the US. It is known as "Hit and run", or "leaving the scene of an accident."
