Only the Earth is known to have a core that includes liquid metal.

However, Jupiter and Saturn do have regions composed of metallic liquid hydrogen. Also, there is some evidence that Mercury and Venus may have liquid metal in their cores. Mars may have some liquid metallic sulfide in its core.

Is Earth's inner core surrounded by a liquid outer core?

Yes earths inner core is a dense ball of metal earths outer core is a layer of molten (melted) metal

Do all planets have liquid metal in the core?

no, because liquid metal is usually created through electromagnetic fields or friction.

Is the earths core made of liquid iron?

The outer portion of the core is mostly molten iron. The inner core is solid metal.

What creates Earths magnetic?

Scientists think that the presence of the molten nickel iron layer of Earth's outer core and the spinning of the planet creates the magnetic field through the geodynamo mechanism. The geodynamo mechanism couples the convection of the liquid metal in the Earth's core with the magnetic field to create the current responsible for the magnetic field.Other planets with a molten metal core can also have a magnetic field.See related links.Earth's magnetic field is generated by the electric currents in the conductive material of its core.

Is earth a solid or a gas planet?

Earth has a solid metal inner core and a liquid metal outer core. Most of the rest made up of rocks in a molten state, but with a solid "crust". Finally there is a gas atmosphere. For simplicity scientists call Earth a solid planet to distinguish it from the gas planets, like Jupiter.

Is mantle made of molten metal?

No. Only the outer core is molten.

What is the liquid core of the earth?

The Earth's outer core is believed to be made of molten (liquid) iron and nickel.

metal maybe iron or nickel or both

What is the Earth's outer core made of?

it is made of liquid and the liquid is most likely made of iron aka (liquid iron) The outer core is composed of liquid iron and nickel mainly. So is the inner core, but it is solid.
