AnswerHenry Tudor, better known as King Henry VIII of England, did not "order Katherine Howard's head to be cut off."Katherine was the fifth of the King's six wives, and she was aged between 15 and 20 when she married him - her exact date of birth is not recorded. She had affairs with other men before and after her marriage to Henry VIII, and when Henry was told, he at first refused to believe it. Her adultery was held to be treason and she was tried and convicted of this offence by a Court of Law.She was executed by beheading on 13th February, 1542.

Arthur, Prince of Wales, was Henry's older brother and heir to the throne of Henry VII, their father. He was born on the 19/20 September 1486. On the 14th November 1501, he married Katherine of Aragon. He was 14 and Katherine was almost 16. In March 1502 Arthur fell ill with (probably) tuberculosis and he died on 2 April. Eventually Henry married the widow, Katherine in 1509, after the death of Henry VII, as it was said her marriage to Arthur had not been consummated. They had one living child, Mary (later Mary I). However, when Henry subsequently decided to divorce Katherine, he brought into question the non-consummation of Katherine's marriage to Arthur, in order to give him ammunition for an annullment.
