Can you use a 15 amp fuse instead of a 10 amp fuse for your car gauges?

It is NEVER a good idea to use a higher value fuse. The reason for the 10 Amp fuse is that it blows at 10 amps which the wire and device being protected is designed to handle. If you substitute 15 amps and that amount of current flows in your device, it may destroy the device and other things in the path of the current.

Yes you can but you are setting yourself up for a big problem. There is a reason the 20 amp fuse is blowing. By installing a bigger fuse it allows the current that is causing the 20 amp fuse to blow to stay in for a longer period of time. This can cause excessive heating and melting of the wires on the circuit that is blowing on a 20 amp fuse. Trace the wire and find the fault. Always use the manufacturer's recommended fuse sizing for your own protection.

Check and see if the fusible link has burned through. I'm not sure where it is, most are located along the fire wall at the back of the engine. That would be my first guess. It should have connections on both ends and about six to eight inches long. On the passanger side of the engine compartment, there is a small, black covered fuse block. It contains either 3 or 4 fuses. The rearmost fuse controls ALL electricity to the car. To replace it, the two screws that hold the fuse block in place need to be removed. This then gives access to the two screws that hold the fuse in place. I believe that it is a 30 amp MAXI fuse
