∙ 16y agoYes, you can always 'file a claim', would've been better of course had you stayed at the scene (and left your car where it was) and the police could've documented the angles, point of impact etc. Did you get any info? Plates? If so that will be helpful, I would probably call the police now, and get a report on record, so the other party doesn't report it just the oppisite....Also turn in your claim immediately.

It will not go against your insurance because a claim has not been filed only a police report.
