I always suggest that you wait until the adjuster has a chance to look at the vehicle and determine if it is totaled or not before cancelling. Speak with your agent about this matter as well. In some states you need to cancel the tag before cancelling the insurance or you will incur a fine. If it is financed you will also need to consult the finance company as well.
