I am sure the x ray machines do demagnetize tapes. I bought hi8 tapes for my cam corder (2 sets) and all of them were demagnetized by the time I got from St. Louis to Tennerife. I was pissed I even asked security if they would be fine and they assured me they would. LIARS! lol I didn't get to make videos for my kids to see and of family there for other family to see I was angry. So my advice is to NOT take them. This year I am looking for a container that will keep them safe. Any ideas are appreciated.
