No, the Appalachian mountains are farther east. They're in the eastern united states. They run between Alabama/Georgia in the south and North of Maine into Canada. The great plains are in the central USA. They are west of the Mississippi river and east of the rocky mountains. The great plains also extend into Canada. The Appalachians do not extend far enough west to meet the great plains.

The Appalachian Mountains are EAST of the Mississippi River. This long mountain chain crosses diagonally from the New England States, New York State, through NE to SW central Pennsylvania, through western Virginia, and West Virginia into the Carolinas, Kentucky, Tennessee, and northern Georgia.

The Great Plains are west of the Mississippi River and far west from the Appalachian Mountains.

What natural resources and what type of weather did the great plains Indians have?

The Great Plains cover a wide area of the North American continent. In general, the Plains closer to the Rock mountains are dryer because they are in the rain shadow of the mountains; these are the short grass prairies. Farther east, where it is more humid and there is more rain, there are tall grass prairies. In general, the Great Plains have a wide variety of weather throughout the year with very cold winters and very hot summers. There is usually plenty of wind, too. The prairies support abundant vegetation in undisturbed settings, but people have easily converted much of the prairies for agricultural purposes or pastures.
