It's a result of the fermentation process. The wine is bottled and has sugar added to it. The yeast feeds on the sugar and dies when the sugar is gone giving off gas. Because the bottle is sealed the gas can't escape and stays in the bottle.

How did champagne get its name?

True 'Champagne' is made exclusively in the Champagne region of France. The rest, like 'California Champagne' is not truly Champagne, but a similar sparkling wine. France recently expanded the region within Champagne where Champagne can be produced. Before the expansion, sparkling wine produced a few yards across the line of demarcation could not be sold as "Champagne." Now it can. When the lines were re-drawn in the early 20th century, the result was known as the Champagne Riots or the Champagne War. Such arbitrary changes can result in enormous price changes in wine that is completely indistinguishable.

Is Sparkled beverage synonemus to Carbonated beverage?

A carbonated beverage is a type of sparkling beverage, but a sparkling beverage is not necessarily carbonated. Carbonation is the result of adding compressed carbon dioxide to a drink to achieve this effect. Many alcoholic beverages such as beer and sparkling wine produce carbon dioxide bubbles as part of the natural fermentation process. Even though the bubbles in alcohol are CO2, it is not technically "carbonated" because the CO2 was not added artificially as it is with soda drinks.

Why is fermentation wasteful?

The energy produced by the glycolysis phase is wasted on the fermentation process because if oxygen were present, the pyruvate could go on to the Krebs cycle and the ETS to produce more energy, whereas without oxygen, only 2 ATP result instead of 38. How do you make liqor in 75 seconds?

I don't think you can. Liquor is usually the result of a fermentation process. Meaning it takes a while. The closest you can get to that is probably just going to the liquor store.
