Dont jump them, its not a switch, its a transducer and you could wreck your pcm by jumping the wrong one. Run a power wire directly to your compressor to get the clutch to engage. If it doent engage then, it is your clutch. Remember to first check refridgerant level and fuses/relays.

Good luck.

If the AC compressor clutch does not kick in and the relay and fuse are ok what could be the problem?

The clutch receives it's signal to engage from a pressure switch in the system. If there is insufficient refrigerant in the system the pressure switch will not close resulting in no power at the compressor clutch to make it engage.

How do you engage the mower for a John Deere stx38?

The STX-38 should have an electric clutch for the mower deck. The switch to engage it is on the right rear fender. It is a toggle switch. You will have to pull up on the switch and forward to engage the blades.

Izuzu Rodeo Starter Problem. No solenoid click.Battery ok.Starter relay swapped.Starter will spin when jumped to battery but does not engage without solenoid action.Might be ignition or neutral switch?

It is a neutral switch.Starters on newer Isuzu will have a safety-switch installed, even for manual transmissions. The switch, inside the transmission or clutch, will disable the starter circuit until the vehicle is in the proper "mode" to engage the starter. For automatics, this means the starter won't engage unless the transmission is in Park or Neutral. For manuals, (stick-shifts) this means you must engage the clutch while turning the key. Until you engage the clutch, it will seem like the starter is dead. You can have a look at the related link for some trouble shooting pointers. The safety-switch(called a Mode switch for AT) is on the side of the transmission and the clutch switch is on a bracket in front of the clutch pedal. It is activated (switches on) once the clutch pedal is depressed.

Why will your 1985 Pontiac trans am 305 not start with the clutch pressed - started fine earlier - acts as if the clutch is not pressed - same symptoms with and without the clutch pressed?

there is a safety switch on the clutch, it should be on the inside of the car that the pedal has to activate so the car will start, apparently that switch is bad.

Where is the neutral safety switch on a 1985 Pontiac fiero with a manual transmission?

There is no neutral safety switch on a 85 fiero with a manual transmission. There is a clutch pedal switch under the dash. The car will start in any gear, as long as the clutch pedal is depressed.

91 escort pony the clutch and ignition suddenly are not working Any ideas Thanks?

There is a switch on the clutch that won't let the car start unless the clutch pedal is fully depressed. You can turn the key but the starter won't engage. Something stuck under the clutch pedal (matt, etc...) will do it or if someone kicked the switch or possibly the switch has died. You could use a jumper wire to bypass the switch if you had to or just replace the switch.

How is the compressor clutch engaged on the air con system?

When not engaged, the wheel spins freely. When the low pressure switch closes, it closes the electrical circuit to the compressor clutch. This actuates an electromagnet, which pulls the clutch in to engage it.
