A specialist is someone who specializes (Studies) a very specific subject

eg: a specialist in neurology is a Doctor Who specializes in studying/fixing brains

A professional is anyone who do what they do for a living

eg: a professional footballer is a football player who gets money for playing football

So both are two different things, and usually a specialist is a professional, ie, he gets money for what he does.
