She dreamed of two people (a beautiful boy and a girl) sitting in a meadow together and talking to each other, except it wasn't a normal conversation, it was stressful and full of anxiety. After this, she felt that she needed to write her dream down and continued on from there.

Why did Stephenie Meyer invent twilight?
She did not at first invent Twilight it came to her in a dream. That following morning she had ideas to be able to put together a story and so, from there she wrote the whole story.
