Generally, the engine will sound louder. If you take a rolled up rag (so you don't burn your hand) and hold it tightly over the exhaust pipe while the engine is idling, you will hear a sound like compressed air leak.
How long you can avoid repairing it depends on how much you value your life. Leaking exhaust can enter the cabin and carbon monoxide in the exhaust is deadly. Leaking exhaust does no other specific damage to the car unless the hot exhaust blasts against something flammable or the exhaust system falls off.
no it does not because it just doesnt
A buildup of raw fuel in the exhaust system is then ignited and damages the exhaust muffler or blows a pipe apart.
from the car exhaus or in the car exhaust?.... if u have oil in ur exhaust that's not good..lol from the outside of the exhaus just use degresser doesnt cost much... and if u don't wanna buy that just use fuel
try checking that there is no moisture build up in the sparks as this will cause it to idle rough but drive fine. if u do find moisture try spraying some crc 556 or other lubricant in the spark cavity and check the spark plug gapping. if its still idling rough after that take it to a garage :-)
it doesnt matter they are both better than subaru
grey exhaust smoke is caused by your engine burning oil during the combustion process. this could be caused by a piston ring that doesnt properly seal, or another leak in your engine.
Megan cat-back raceing exaust
there is no gasket on the exhaust manifold. i have a 93 escort lx wagon and i have a leak somewhere and i looked at the exhaust diagram at my local napa and it doesnt show a gasket. * Not sure which diagram you were looking at but there is DEFINITELY a gasket... Look up exhaust manifold on any popular car site and you will clearly see one.
it varies on the manifold and engine. if it helps move air it will increase horse power, if it doesnt, torque.
with regular maintenance, and if the body doesnt rot off it, it will go forever. Mine is very rusty, but has 231,000 miles.
is the check engine light on? if so it may be the coolant temperature sensor...happened to me...if it doesnt turn over at all try the starter or the battery
yeah, but it doesnt mean u are
