Cervical radiculitius can be caused by a neck injury but, is not always associated with one. It is caused by an impact to the neck OR repeated bending of the neck. I have it and all of a sudden I woke up with my neck sideways and extreme nerve pain in my right arm. Hope this helps.
"A neck injury may involve injury to the cervical spine, but does not always involve cervical spine injury. Neck injuries may be related to muscle pulls, spinal alignment and other problems that do not involve injury to the cervical spine."
Thank you for your question. My answer is "No." However, an injury to the cervical spinal nerves or those even lower, like an injury to the axillary (armpit) nerves or those in the elbow region can cause the symptoms of a pinched nerve with pain in the wrist. Pain would be located at the nerve injury or down the limb from the injured nerve. The only way a wrist injury could possibly cause a pinched nerve to your cervical region is if your wrist injury caused you to hold your wrist in a position that would strain your neck and pinch the nerves there. Very difficult to do.
A spinal cord injury can result in a loss of sensation and/or loss of function below the area of spinal cord injury. The degree to which the body is affected, will depend how high up the spinal cord the injury occurs. If the injury is in the neck, cervical region, then the arms will also be affected, resulting in Quadriplegia. More information on the different types of spinal cord injury can be found here: http://www.apparelyzed.com/paralysis.html
A condition resulting from a previous injury could be a sequela.
The impact of a deploying airbag striking a rear-facing child seat could result in severe injury or death to the child
A personal injury can be a physical injury, disease or illness, or a psychological injury or illness. A personal injury could result in death. Examples of personal injuries are: an injury at work. This includes work-related illnesses such as a disease caused by working with asbestos, a psychological illness caused by stress at work, an injury caused in a traffic accident or an injury received as a result of faulty goods or services.
If the scoliosis is so severe that there is injury to the spinal cord, paralysis could result.
Occupational safety hazards are conditions, procedures, or materials in the workplace that could result in injury to employees.
This could result from an injury, a wound, testicular cancer, or voluntary surgery.
It depends on the level of the trauma. The higher up the trauma is the greater the likelihood of quadraplegia or death. Lower trauma (C6-7) could result in paraplegia.
A bald spot on a cat's knee could be the result of an injury that has healed leaving a scar.
Shut down of your brain- usually as a result of a lack of oxygenated blood, but could be due to injury to the brain itself.
Perhaps it is for protection, since an injury of the thoracolumbar area could cause death, but since the nerve arises from the cervical area and enters the thorax and then goes to the diaphragm, it stands a lesser chance of being injured.
