- A comfortable environment such as good management and supervisors that do not just see employees, but the human side of their employees and are there to help with personal needs such as time off for a sick loved one, etc.,; reasonable rules to follow which are followed to the letter; open communication levels between management and their employees; along with the choices of hiring of employees who have a record of getting along with their coworkers in the past; even the subdued color of the walls of the office environment down to carpets can be calming along with windows and light coming through the windows. Although the latter appears to be of little significance scientists have proven that certain colors along with light coming through windows calms people down rather than dark, drab colors in the workplace; with cubicles and no windows. An experiment by scientists was done at a jail and they painted the walls pink and were quite surprised that the prisoners brought in acted in a more calm manner and were less aggressive and settled down more quickly.
