What is Phil Collins religion?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Phil Collins doesn't have a certain religon. He is an athiest.

I doubt that Phil Collins is an atheist because he talks about Jesus in some of his songs.

Actually, in "Jesus He Knows Me," he is mocking preachers who do not practice what they preach, and those who are weak-minded enough to follow them. Using the name Jesus does not mean you support the religion. Maynard from Tool and APC uses the name, yet look at the songs Eulogy, Judith, Opiate, and The Patient.

Has Phil Collins Died?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

This is a common misconception, which came about through the lyrics to his 1980s classic "In the Air Tonight", where the lyrics go: "whether you told me you were drowning/I would not lend a hand". These words brought about rumours that he had witnessed the drowning of his mate, while onlookers did nothing to intervene. However, it has been made clear by Phil himself that he was going through a divorce at the time of writing this song. As a result, the lyrics are merely a metaphor for his marital turbulence, and have nothing to do with the death of a pal.

What is the story behind Phil Collins' song 'In the Air Tonight'?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Phil Collins was sitting on a mountain or a high ledge and he watched this guy drown in a lake. Collins had no way of trying to save the person but there was a person that could have but they didn't . So the song is basically saying if i saw you drowning i would not save you because you didn't save that man. He watched the whole thing happen. Phil Collins says he will never forget about it . Yeah and he invited the man to his concert and looked him in the eye and said" your a foolish barsterd"

How can you describe the voice of Phil Collins?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Hehe, good question. His voice is more soothing, not so harsh as most singers. It appears he may have had years of choral practice, with his annunciation of his words in his songs. You are familiar with his work alone, and with Genesis? Compare the two, side by side, with any song he sang while in Genesis, and with let's say a Disney song he did...You'll be in My Heart comes to mind.

His voice will sound different to everyone as each person has a different preference in music and singer. But, classify him as soothing, not-so-masculine, and gentle. If you can think of an actor, I would say to think of David Tennant without an accent.

Called the Father of Metal, The Father of Modern Rock; Hendrix was what every subsequent guitarist that grew up listening to him would want to be; A Guitar Hero.

His flamboyance in fashion, stage presence, and constant musical experimentation opened the doors for a new breadth of guitar based music. His unpredictable personality and steady diet of recreational drugs made him a mythic figure. But ultimately it was his sudden and inexplicable death from a reaction to a combination of sleeping pills and alcohol that left the greatest mark on his friends and fans.
Jimi Hendrix was the bestest, fastest, craziest, most rockin' guitar player there was.

and will ever be. Could play the guitar insanely with his teeth
