work in universities, museums, governmant goeologist surveys, and petroleum industry some people work in collages and univerisities as proffessors in the study of geology an a small number work in mueseams. and a few years ago a very small number worked for oil companies to help look for petroleum.
The character Ross Geller in friends is portrayed by David Schwimmer.
The specific courses required to complete a degree in paleontology can vary depending on the university and program. However, typical courses may include geology, biology, chemistry, physics, paleontology, evolution, and fieldwork experience. Additionally, elective courses in related fields such as ecology, sedimentology, and anatomy may also be required or recommended.
An ice core provides information about Earth's history by capturing and preserving a record of past climate conditions. The ice layers contain air bubbles that trap atmospheric gases, such as carbon dioxide, which can be analyzed to understand past atmospheric composition. Additionally, isotopes of oxygen and hydrogen in the ice can reveal information about past temperatures and climate patterns.
One type of catastrophic change that can cause a mass extinction is an asteroid impact. When a large asteroid collides with the Earth, it can release massive amounts of energy, cause widespread destruction, trigger tsunamis and wildfires, and create a global "impact winter" due to the release of dust and debris into the atmosphere. Such an event is believed to have caused the extinction of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago.
A dimensional method is a technique used in problem-solving or analysis that involves considering different dimensions or aspects of a situation. It helps to break down complex problems into smaller, more manageable parts and allows for a more comprehensive understanding of the problem or situation at hand. By analyzing different dimensions, such as time, space, or stakeholders, one can gain valuable insights and develop effective solutions.
you have to were glasses and an apron then you make sure you know where the drill is going to lower then you make sure the protection is on the you press the green button to turn it on and then you lower the drill and higher it every now and then then press the red button to stop it
there were 11 mass extintions.1 Precambrian(Paleozoic)2 Cambrian,3 Ordovician,4 Silurian,5 Devonian,6 Carboniferous,7 Permian.(Mesozoic)8 Triassic,9 jurassic,10 Cretaceous.(Cenozoic)11 tertiary, 0 quaternary/today.
It depends what your definition of reptile is. Turtles, Crocodiles are all "living fossils", because they were present in the mesozoic era. (of course not in the same shape or size, but in the same species). Some even say that birds are reptiles. (because latest fossils show us that some dinosaurs had feathers). So to answer your question, turtles, crocodiles and birds are all living reptiles from the mesozoic era.
Hope this helps.
The Mesozoic period (roughly 180MYA) was a period when much change was happening in the Earth's continental arrangement. The final stage of the break up of the supercontinent Pangaea is generally considered to have taken place in this period. Land and sea were different to how we see them today. Pangaea was on the onset of forming 2 smaller supercontinents called Laurasia and Gondwana. The Atlantic ocean had not yet formed. The Himalayas were not there. It was a very different picture to what we see today. Have a look at this page for further details concerning the break up of Pangaea. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pangaea
Most extinctions occur as background extinctions because they are longer time periods unlike the shorter mass extinctions which there were only two in the Paleozoic era, the Ordovician mass extinction, and the Permian/Triassic extinction in which 95% of all marine animals became extinct
dimetrodon was the dominANT SPECIES OF THE permian period
it was mostly covered with trees and grass.
Trilobites originated during the Cambrian era, flourished through the Paleozoic era, declined during the Devonian era, and finally became extinct in the Permean mass extinction event.
In total there were live trilobites on the earth for about 290 million years.
A person who studies reptiles and amphibians is known as "herpetologist." However, a "batrachologist" is someone who's study focuses solely on amphibians.
Herpetologists study reptiles and amphibians. It comes from the Greek term for a "creeping animal" and uses the ending -ology that is used to notate that it is the study of something.
Paleontology is the study of fossils (any evidences of ancient life) in order to compile information about the history of life on Earth. Examples of paleontology related activities would be the search for and recovery of fossils, the reconstruction and cleaning of fossils, identification and cataloging of fossils, preparation of museum exhibits, and creating hypotheses and theories on ancient organisms' evolution and behaviors.
There were far too many organisms in the Mesozoic that have been discovered to list, and what has been discovered is only a fraction of what actually existed. Here is the list for you:
Animals
In the Air:
Insects
Pterosaurs
The first birds (some of which had teeth)
On Land:
Dinosaurs
Small mammals (multi-tuberculates, placentals, marsupials, and monotremes)
Lizards
Amphibians (frogs, salamanders, and the last temnospondyls [huge, toothed amphibians])
Insects
In the Ocean:
Fish
Coral
Sharks
Plesiosaurs (marine reptiles, some of which had long necks)
Icthyosaurs (marine reptiles that looked like fish)
Mosasaurs (huge marine lizards)
Plants
Ferns and Tree Ferns
Conifers
Cycads
Bennettitales
The first angiosperms (flowering plants) appeared during the end part of the Cretaceous
There were a lot of different kinds of dinosaurs that died off at various times. However, pretty much the final curtain was something called the K-T Event, which marked the end of the Mesozoic Era and the beginning of the Cenozoic Era. It's thought that a large meteorite (perhaps 10-40 km diameter) struck the Earth, resulting in climate changes which most dinosaurs were unable to adapt to.
The K-T Event happened roughly 65 million years ago.
the diansours things did and the big rock!
Scientists have found a number of fossils of theropod dinosaurs with anatomy remarkably similar to that of birds. Many dinosaurs are now known to have had feathers.
The oldest humanoid fossils were all found in Africa.
Elephants aren't extinct. They're just sort of rare in some certain places.
