No, Carrie Ingalls did not have malaria when the rest of the family had it. Laura Ingalls Wilder, who wrote the Little House on the Prairie books, mentioned that only herself, Mary, and Ma had contracted malaria while living on the prairie.

people are infected by the bite of an infected female anopheles mosquito
It may be possible for elephants to contract malaria, as there are over 200 different Plasmodium species. However, elephants are not susceptible to the same five Plasmodiumspecies that humans are.
Malaria is transmitted by the bite of an infected female Anopheles mosquito. This bite introduces the parasites from the mosquito's saliva into a person's blood. The parasites then travel to the liver where they mature and reproduce.
In medical terms, a vector is an intermediary organism that carries and transmits a disease from one host to another, usually without contracting the disease itself. When female mosquitoes feed on the blood of an animal infected with a disease (e.g. malaria, equine encephalitis), and then bites another animal, the mosquito's saliva/anticoagulant fluid infects the second animal, or human, with the disease. (In malaria, the actual fertilization of the infective Plasmodium sporozoite takes place within the mosquito.)
* In the special case of the human botfly, the mosquito has been seized by an egg-laying fly, which plants its eggs on the mosquito, and the mosquito (unharmed) carries the eggs of the fly to new human hosts.
Malaria is caused by the microscopic single -celled protozoan called Plasmodium , and is the deadliest organism on the planet. When a person with active malaria is bitten by the Anopheles mosquito, the mosquito injests the Plasmodium larvae with the blood meal. The larvae travel to the midgut of the mosquito, where they change form. When the mosquito bites UNinfected person, the plasmodium is injected into their bloodstream through the mosquito's saliva. The larvae are in the person's bloodstream , and transform again. Next they invade the blood cells, where they multiply over and over, bursting the blood cells and spreading even more larvae into the blood stream. The infection causes high fevers, and severe anemia, possibly leading to death. Another mosquito bites this person and spreads it to yet a third person.
( i think I left out a side-trip into the human liver somewhere, but you get the idea!)
It is not exactly known who discovered that mosquitoes carried malaria. Based on available research, however, the WHO discovered mosquito borne viruses in the 1920's. A number of leading scientists and researchers concurred with their findings. As a result, the World Health Organization and the CDC are credited with these findings and reports.
Myth: Only the female mosquito makes a buzzing sound
Fact: The buzzing sound you hear is from the beating of the wings. Both female and male wings make a buzzing sound. Most people don't hear the male mosquito because it doesn't bite.

Yes, there are some scientists looking into it, but they found a disease inside a mountain gorilla's immune system and he has all the symtoms but the gorilla acts fine. They know that if a perso got it, they would die immediatly. So yes.
There are approximately 460 mosquito species. Of these over 100 can transmit human malaria. Of these 30-40 commonly transmit parasites which cause malaria in humans in areas where it is most prevalent. The single most common carrier is "Anopheles gambiae" which carries the most dangerous malaria parasite species - "Plasmodium falciparum".
G6PD or galactosemia. The baby is not able to metabolized galactose in the body causing mental retardation.Soy milk is recommended for this babies.
I know it is because of artemisinins unusual peroxide bridge... but how exactly i don't know
This is an example of a parisitic relationship because the organism harms the host.
The best way is to avoid mosquito bites. Use of spray/coils/repellant creams in the house and sleeping under mosquito nets. Use of nets in the doors and windows or any opening in the house, and spaying of ponds and stagnant water around the area will also help as it prevents breeding of the mosquitos
You won't catch malaria in Britain because we don't have mosquitos but British people can be affected by it if they have been to a country where it can be caught.
The CPT code for the malaria vaccine will vary depending on which country you're in. However, the CPT code is usually one of the following codes: 9940 or 99406
Once a person has it it never leaves the blood.
Malaria lives in mosquito's found in greater part of Africa, Middle east, South-east Asia, and South America.
From the NHS website:
"Symptoms of malaria usually appear 10-15 days after you are bitten. However, depending on the type of parasite you are infected with, it can take a year for symptoms to show."
In both the diseases, fever may start with slow onset. Patients suffering from both of them complain of headache. Patients suffering from both will have mild spenomegaly at some stage of fever. ( Usually at the end of week.) Both fevers have leucopenia in peripheral smear. Fever will never rise above 104 degree Fahrenheit in typhoid fever. And patient of typhoid fever will get 'toxic' in about 7 days of fever. At 104 degree Fahrenheit temperature he will need assistance of two persons to go to toilet as against patient of malarial fever. Patient of malarial fever can walk to longer distance without assistance. The experienced doctor can tell from the face of the patient that he is suffering from typhoid fever or not.
