How many westerns did James cagney make?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Of his almost 200 films at least half of them were westerns. Compared to movie actors today, who average about 30 to 40 films in a lifetime if they are lucky, Wayne surpasses them many times over. Early in his career Wayne was cranking out a movie a week in B-westerns and low budget serials. Add that to the longevity of his career it's no wonder he has so many film credits.

Why was James Cagney estranged from his children?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

His children actually lived in a separate quarters in back of the house, because he didn't want to be bothered by them while rehearsing lines with his wife/coach. Even though his son's army buddy described James Jr. as a really nice guy, apparently the kids didn't live up to Cagney Sr.'s idea of perfection. When his son preceded him in death, all he could come up with for a tribute was that Jr. was "a jack of all trades, and master of none."
