Well unfotunately these are one of the circumstances where rebuilding the entire transmission would be more profitable, and if for some reason only reverse were fixed, other gears may have been damaged by the debri from the reverse clutch pack..sorry for the bad news.. DAve

2005 Honda rancher 350 shifting problems?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I see it all the time. If you lay down behind the machine and look up at the back of the engine just above the skid plate you will see where the reverse lock out sensor wire plugs in and you will likely see the wire hanging. plug it in and ride. my guess is they get knocked off by sticks rubbing the skid pan.

How do you check oil in Honda rancher?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

You could take it to advanced auto parts and have them clear the codes for you, they do it for free.

And the guys at the parts place would look at each other and tell you they have no idea how to do that since its not a Check Engine Light. He could simply open his owners manual and read about it. Or he could just do this and get rid of the light.

Turn your key to the Run position without the engine running. Then depress the gas pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. You will then hear 5 beeps. Turn the car off then start it up. As long as you did it right, the light will be gone.

Can you adjust the headlights up or down on a 1999 Ford F-150?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

As this requires special equipment to be done correctly, I would suggest you take it to a Ford dealer for this adjustment. All you need is a Torx screw driver, or a socket. The adjuster is on the top rear of the headlight. Do Not pay a dealer to do this.

What type of oil goes in a Honda rancher 350?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Most any "High Quality" oil (Honda, Castrol, Valvoline, Spectro) will work fine as long as it is the right "Viscosity" for the temperature in which you are operating your ATV in. The most versitile viscosity I have found in the climate I ride is SAE 10W40 it will work well from (minus) -10F to +105F. The oils NOT recommended for use are: API SH or higherdisplaying a circular API "Energy Conserving" label on the container. These may affect lubrication and clutch performance. Also NEVER use "Non-Detergent, vegetable or castor based racing oils.

What is the difference in a Honda rancher ATV and a Honda foreman ATV?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Well I like both Honda little more reliable can am has some mechanical issues.

----------

Better how? for stricktly utility purpose I would go with the Honda, for yes in general GENERAL! they are more reliable. However taking all aspects of quading(atving) the can am outlander is far quicker, more enjoyable and just as usefull. The Can am Renegade is just a 4x4 racing quad pretty well, sporty version of the outlander and virtually useless as a utility quad.

What is the proper tire pressure for a 2008 Honda rancher ATV?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Look at the recommended tire pressure stated on the sidewall of the tire. It states the tire size and gives you the recommended tire pressure. Are you serious with this question?

^^^ What an idiotic response! Since you obviously do not know the right answer, why post anything at all? The sidewall of the tires states to check in the user manual for the proper PSI, which is hardly helpful. I usually put around 14 PSI in the rear tires and about 12 PSI in the front. I cannot find the user manual for my 2001 Rancher but 14/12 is what a fellow Rancher owner told me.

STRAIGHT FROM THE OWNER'S MANUAL! I HAVE a Honda 420 with MAXXIS M977 (front) and M978 (rear). The OWNER's manual says the correct/recommended tiure pressure is 4.4 psi (30kPa) front and rear. They actually supplied a small, low range tire gauge so I could get it right. The first answer is so far off the mark it is not even funny.

User Avatar

there should be a drain fill plug on the front your diff. Since you have the IFS probably the easierst way to get oil into it would be to use along piece of fuel line from the top of your engine to the fill plug and just fill it from under the hood rather fan fighting with the bottle underneith the truck.
