Do performance headers use more gas?

Performance headers can potentially increase fuel consumption, but the effect largely depends on how they are used. They are designed to improve engine efficiency and power output by optimizing exhaust flow, which can lead to better combustion. If a driver takes advantage of the increased performance by accelerating harder or driving more aggressively, fuel consumption may rise. However, under normal driving conditions, they can enhance fuel efficiency by allowing the engine to operate more effectively.

Why does a ram air intake cause hesitation?

A ram air intake can cause hesitation due to changes in the air-fuel mixture and the intake air pressure. When the vehicle is moving at lower speeds, the intake may not generate sufficient air pressure, leading to an inconsistent air supply and potentially a lean mixture. This can result in hesitation or a lack of power during acceleration. Additionally, if the system is not properly tuned to handle the increased airflow at higher speeds, it may further exacerbate the issue.

Having checked all the obvious (cables connected, mains power on, etc) I have found that on a number of occasions, when I turn on the console there is no green light, ie no power. In the past I have found that leaving power adapter on (even with the console off) generates a lot of heat and I have been unable to use the console until it has been turned off (at source) for a while. However, yesterday the console just switched itself off and will not turn on this morning despite being off all night (power source too). I will have to check the fuses, etc. So if my first suggestion (ensuring the power adapter is off for a while before use) does not work, perhaps check the fuses too! Sadly, as with most electrical toys these days, it seems the build quality is questionable!
