Well she is the mother of the hearth, without her, everysingle living thing would die, starting off with the gods. For their life force is intertwined with the holy fire of Olympus which is tended to all the time by mother Hestia! So she keeps us alive, and nit only that but she is in a way like Hera, for she helps in the sibling rivals in old stories and she helped in everyday fuses that went on in the house. She is that fire of the meal table, the fire of our warmly life! Hope it helped

Actually,Hestia did have a throne.But when Dionysus,the Greek god of wine and festivity was born,there were no more seats.So in courtesy to Dionysus,Hestia gave up her seat on Olympus and gave it to him.
