He didn't want to tell her he forgot and when she asked what his name was, he said Mike. After later realizing he didn't know any Mikes, he went into Central Perk and shouted the name. Paul Rudd's character responded and Joey convinced him to go on the date. They met on this date and Phoebe realized that Joey didn't know the guy and got very upset. However, they ran into each other again and the romance began!

Also, in the episode "The One that could have been" (Episode 6.16), Rachel tried to sleep with Joey, but she drank too much and passes out.

Monica gets a Porsche in Season 7, Episode 13, The One Where Rosita Dies. Monica and Ross go to their parent's house to see their childhood memories because they are selling it. In the garage, Ross's boxes are dry and safe, whereas Monica's boxes are wet and moldy because their father wanted to keep leaves and gunk away from his Porsche when the garage floods. This shows yet again that the parents favor Ross over Monica. Feeling guilty that Monica does not have any childhood memories, her father gives her the key to the Porsche. Ross is jealous that she gets the car even though he is the "medical marvel."
