Which Internet connection offers the greatest speed?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

When it comes to browsing the internet, many of us are most concerned with internet speed. Families with many online devices, those who stream or download a lot of films or shows, serious online gamers, and those who spend a lot of time in online meetings can all benefit from or require high-speed internet. Connection speeds of more than 100 Mbps are considered high-speed internet. The top internet service providers usually provide at least one high-speed plan.

With a cable connection, providers such as Google Fibre, AT&T, Cox, Verizon Fios, and Xfinity often offer connections that can reach 1 Gbps download and 5 Mbps to 50 Mbps upload speeds. Some providers provide fibre connections with download speeds that are significantly faster than symmetrical upload speeds.

Others may provide a hybrid cable-fiber service that downloads quicker than cable but uploads slower than fibre.

It is simple to locate a high-speed internet plan. Finding the best one for your needs, on the other hand, can be difficult. To assist you with making your decision, we analysed the best firms to develop this list of the fastest internet providers. C3 Pure Fibre leads the market in fibre optic telecommunications.

Does 50 mbps make a huge difference for online gaming as compared to 20 mbps?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It depends on how much data is being sent back and forth in the first place, but generally yes. You will get less lag, but it won't neccesarily make the game itself run faster. You still need a good video card, plenty of RAM, and a good processor for games to run smoothly.

User Avatar

Asked by Manojappu

UNARY AND BINARY

a unary operation is an operation with only one operand, i.e. an operation with a single input, or in other words, a function of one variable.

eg- * Increment: ++x, x++

* Decrement: −−x, x−−

* Address: &x

* Indirection: *x

* Positive: +x

* Negative: −x

* One's complement: ~x

* Logical negation: !x

* Sizeof: sizeof x, sizeof(type-name)

* Cast: (type-name) cast-expression

int i = 0;

printf (" %d \n %d ", i++, i++);

a binary operation is a calculation involving two operands.

Can you use a router with peoplepc dsl?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Yes. You must first make sure your DSL modem is just a modem not a modem and a router. Then you must setup your DSL modem in "bridged mode". Next log into your router and change it from DHCP to PPPoE and enter your DSL username and password in the proper fields. All will work well from that point on.

What is broadband satellite internet?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Broadband Satellite Internet is a way to receive internet connections in remote places. Technically Broadband describes internet connections which can operate on a wide (broad) spectrum (band) of different signal frequencies. Broadband Satellite Internet works by placing a stationary dish near your home or business then pointed towards a satellite in the sky. The same way that you can receive your TV channels from companies such as DirecTV or Dish Network. Most often the dishes for internet are two to three times larger than TV dishes to help narrow the signal strength better. They also will have a transmitter attached to the end that is similar to what you would see on a TV dish but larger. So when you open Internet Explore the signal goes from your computer to the modem, then transmited from your dish up to the satellite. Which then redirects the signal to a NOC or Network Of Communications. They are tied into the internet through their ISP backbones that fetch your internet content. This then returns on the same path way in reverse to get back to your computer. Due to the extreme distances that the signal must travel, satellite Internet has lag times of approximately half of a second. Which means delayed reactions for Online gaming, instant Stock trading (Day Trading) or VOIP Telephone service (Vonage, etc.). How ever the download speeds often compare to standard cable or DSL connections.

Why adsl upload speeds slower than download speeds?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

This is by design, and is reflected in the name - the A in ADSL stands for Asymmetric, reflecting the fact that the speed is not the same in both directions.

There are both technical and marketing reasons for this. On the technical side, it is simpler to provide high speed in the download than the upload direction. On the marketing side, this allows companies to sell high download speeds to private customers for a relatively low cost, since download speed is what most households are interested in, while at the same time charging much more for business customers that need high upload speed as well.

What is the best cable to use for DSL?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Cat6 cable is the very best. There is a Cat7 in the works but it is not yet readily available and the connector is different. So if you get Cat6 you have the very best available that will work on most everything. Coax DSL cable is superior but mainly used in industrial applications. A Cat6 shielded cable is also quite effective. In a pinch i have run two Cat6 side by side and punched the blue and orange of the first and the green and brown of the second cable on a single jack. This prevents crosstalk thus data loss. The Cat7 cable is a joke. It does not use an rj45 and is heavily shielded as to almost make it impractical.
