Is the Apocalypse here?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The apocalypse is misunderstood to the point of being completely incorrect.

Basically things occur thus

Satan comes to deceive the people of the earth, claiming to be Jesus Christ, within 5 months (May to September) , the entire world is worshipping him as if he is Christ returned. Revelation through chapter 13.

The true Christ returns, at the 7th trumpet (Revelation 11:15 and 1st Corinthians 15: 50- 54) to find all of his people worshipping Satan, as if he were Christ. Imagine how hurt and angry he will be, that is why he will say to many who make excuses "get out of my sight, I never knew you"

Start at Revelation 14 and read through 16 you will observe the apocalypse starting around Rev 16:16. at the 7th vile probably also the 7th thunder, however the thunders are not given in the text. Satan and his army are about to be destroyed.

What are the three aspects of prophecy?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Each verse in the Bible has 3 applications:-

1. The doctrinal application (often prophetic)

2. The historical application, meaning the event actually happened in human history.

3. The devotional or spiritual application, which is the practical application of the passage to the life and conduct of the believer.

Many of these verses are prophetic. Bearing in mind that one third of the Bible is prophecy, and that most of the prophecies have not been completely fulfilled yet, the three aspects of prophecy are their fulfillment in the :-

1. PAST - partial fulfillment

2. PRESENT - partial fulfillment

3. FUTURE - complete fulfillment in Millennium

It can also be split into:-

1. Material

2. Spiritual

3. Messianic

For example, all 9 of the above could be regarding the nation Israel.

All prophecy is literal - do not spiritualize it away.

All prophecy relates to the 2nd coming of the Messiah [ie Messianic] with complete fulfillment in the Millennium.

Why does man suffer according to the Book of Job?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

According to Job, man suffers because life is a mixed of the good experience (enjoyment) and the bad experience (Suffering), it has nothing to do with either being righteous or a sinner, it just has to do with phases of life that is inevitable by any human on earth, that was why Job answer his wife "But he said unto her, thou speakest as one of the foolish woman speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? in all this did not Job sin with his lips" Job 2:10.

Biblical meaning of judgment of man?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I Corinthians 4:3 “But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.”

When translated word-for-word, the word “judgment” is the word “day.” From God's viewpoint, the age of Grace in which we live is very brief. Today, man passes judgment and sentences; he directs the policy. Man does sit in judgment, but only for a brief period.

How Many Times Will Jesus Come Back?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Once. He was born in Bethlehem, lived out his life for 33 years or so, and died on a cross in Jerusalem. However, after his death, he was seen by literally hundreds of people as a new, glorious resurrected Jesus, who continued to appear to his followers - and others - until his ascension into heaven a few weeks later. He also appeared to St Paul later as a blinding flash of light. Jesus promised that he would one day return to judge the earth. Sects like the Mormons would have you believe that Jesus also appeared in the USA because 'the Book of Mormon says so..'. This is pure fiction and very heretical, as Jesus made it quite clear that he would leave the disciples to return to the Father, only returning again to judge the earth at the end of time.

Was prophecy in Israel a unique phenomenon?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Answer 1
If you mean prophecy of a soon coming Messiah, then yes, it was unique to Israel.

Answer 2
This entirely depends on the religion in question, but most believe that prophecy was not unique to Israel.

Judaism: While most prophets came to Israel as a realization of God's special connection to the Jewish people, there were a few like Balaam who were non-Israelite and true prophets.

Mainstream Christianity:
Mainstream Christianity only accepts the Israelite prophets since they were the only ones who originally predicted a Messiah.

Islam: Islam recognizes that Israelite prophets messages were better recorded, but that there were numerous prophets sent to each nation on Earth to apprise them of Truth and give them the choice to accept Islam up to the point of Mohammed. Mohammed was also non-Israelite.

Mormonism:
Mormons believe that Jesus came to the New World as well. Also Joseph Smith, Jr., the prophet and founder of Mormonism, was not of Israelite descent.

When was Isaiah in Israel?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

In verse 1:1, Isaiah introduces himself as the son of Amoz and says that he is writing about events in Judah and Jerusalem during the reigns of Kings Uzziah (Azariah), Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah. Of course, he does not say his witness includes the entire reign of Uzziah, but even the reigns of just Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah spanned 55 years and Isaiah was a prophet in Judah for at least 40 of those years, during the late eighth and early seventh centuries BCE.

Isaiah, son of Amoz - also known as First Isaiah - should not be confused with an anonymous prophet now known as Second Isaiah, who lived during the latter part of the Babylonian Exile and was the author of Isaiah chapters 40 to 55, or with Third Isaiah, who lived in Judah some time after the Return from Exile.

What does 'You shall fear no evil as you walk in the valley of death' mean?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

One thought:

Looking at the next line after this one, in Psalm 23:4, gives us a clue what is meant. It tells us that we need not be afraid, because God is with us, to comfort us (the "rod and staff" are actual items used in shepherding, to correct, direct and protect the sheep, so they well picture God's loving care for his 'sheep-like'(humble/teachable) people). It means that no matter what trial we face, even death, we do not need to be afraid, if we have a relationship with God. Psalm 27:1 tells us that God is the stronghold of our lives, our light and our salvation. If WE do our part to search for Him(Acts 17:26+27), and carefully try to do what He wants us to do(1 John 5:2+3), NOTHING can separate us from God's love (Romans 8:38+39). This is why God tells us NOT to be afraid. He is with us to fortify us and help us, figuratively holding our hand to the end of the trial, or our lives (the 'valley of death').

Are you living in the last days?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Revelation ch 22 v 7 - "Behold i am coming soon! Blessed is he that keeps the words of the prophecy in this book."

2 Peter ch 3 v1,18

Answer:

With God, one day is "... as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day..."

In this regard... from the time Jesus walked the earth in the flesh until now... only about "three or so days" have elapsed.

I say this, because even the inspired writers of what we call the New Testament referred to their generation as living in the last days.

"Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time." (I John 2:18)

"...God... hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son..." (Heb.1:1-2).

Every day since Christ have been the "last days." And with each passing 24-hour day... the world draws closer to the conclusion of the "last days" and the conclusion of God's 6000 year ['6-day'work-week] plan. The days of man's allotted "six-thousand year work week" of rule on earth are numbered... and the "Lord's Day" [His thousand year, Sabbath Day, rule on earth] will complete the 7000 year [7-day week] of His plan.

So, yes -- we are all living in the last days. Man's works on the earth are almost done. His works shall cause all life to cease, unless the Lord returns to stop it [Matt.24:22].

Judging by the direction present global events are taking the world... there can't be too many more days left. Twenty-four hour ones, that is.
I am guessing that you are really asking, are we living in the end times?

I will let you be the judge. The Bible at 1 Timothy 3:1-4 spoke of the "last days" as being "critical times ard to deal with." Those verses went on to point out that in the last days, people would be unthankful, disloyal, puffed up with pride, lovers of themselves, lovers of money, disobedient to parents, haughty, fierce, and many other things. The question is, do you see this today?

Jesus, at Matthew chapter 24 and Luke chapter 21, when asked about what would be the sign of the "end of the world." answered that there would be wars on a worldwide scale, disease, crime, earthquakes, food shortages, a lack of love among people, that people would be fearful of what is coming apon the earth, and many other hings. Again, have you seen this in your lifetime?

The answer to these two questions I have just posed, is the answer to the original question you just asked.

Here is a web address to an online article that gives further information: Are We Living in the Last Days? http://watchtower.org/e/20060915/article_01.htm

This brings forth another question: what do we do about it? Jesus said at John 17:3, "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of YOU, the only true God, ad the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ." So we must learn about God and his son Jesus, so that we can know what to do to survibe the end, and get everlasting life. That same article has an addition link at the bottom of the page that will give information from the Bible about that.

AnswerThere are many predictions about the end of time and all of them failed.

The Bible predicted that the end will come within the lifetime of Jesus' listener. See Matthew 16:28, Luke 9:27, Mark 9:11.

for other failed predictions see link "63 failed & 1 ambiguous end-of-the-world predictions between 30 CE and 1990 CE"

The world has been in existence for 4+ billion years and will continue to exist for billions more of years. The probability of the world ending within your lifetime is very, very, very remote. Sleep well tonight..,

Answer:Personally, I believe we are closing in on the End of Time as we know it. The most obvious sign is the Biblical prophesy that says the generation that sees Israel become a nation again, will also see the end of time. If you are not a Christian, that would have little importance, but if you think about it, the world is ending for somebody at this very second, and it will end for us all one day.

Where in the Bible does it describe the world ending?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The earliest mention in the Bible of the world coming to an end is in Mark's Gospel, written approximately 70 CE, where it says that some of those alive in the time of Jesus would experience the end of times. Having given the destruction of the Jerusalem Temple as a sign of his imminent return, Mark 13:24-26 continues, "But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light and the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken and then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory." He concluded by saying that he would return within the lifetimes of some of his own generation: "Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done."

By the 80s of the first century, the time when the next gospel, Matthew's Gospel, was written, the return predicted in Mark's Gospel was becoming unlikely - the generation had already passed - and the author of Matthew had to change the emphasis away from an impending end of the world. While copying as faithfully as possible from Mark, he changed the position of the sentence about "this generation", relative to the destruction of the great buildings, so that it referred to something else altogether. He added, and emphasised, material where Jesus told the disciples that the end is not yet, and that no man knows when the end of the world will occur.

Why do people have visions?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

There are various purposes. The vision Saul (Paul) had was for the purpose of converting him to true Christianity and making him into an apostle.

The visions of John, Ezekiel, Zechariah, Malachi, and Daniel were multi-purpose. Part of their visions were for our time, the time of the end, the end of the age of man's rule of this planet.

Some visions are for the purpose of showing what the future will be. These will increase as we get closer to the end.

In the last days God will pour out his Spirit on all flesh; our sons and daughters will prophesy; old men will dream dreams; young men will see visions (Joel 2:28, Acts 2:17).

What is going to happen in the apocalypse?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The term simply means 'unveiling' or revealing and the Book of Revelation explains what events will take place in the future. (Note: the Book of Daniel and Matthew 24 should be read with Revelation):

Revelation 1:1-3New King James Version (NKJV)Introduction and Benediction1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, 2 who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw. 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.
