Steve Garvey is a borderline Baseball Hall of Fame candidate. He was considered a power hitter but he only accumulated 272 Home Runs. Though his batting average .294 and was over .300 for much of his career, he also had 2599 hits, and 1308 RBI. His 1974 National League MVP and 1981 World Series win will probably help him to be voted into the Hall of Fame.

∙ 13y agoHe isn't very well respected by his piers. Not a lot of people know that during his playing days he would be the guy to snub someone who wanted an autograph and would not talk to the media. He changed after retiring from baseball and turned into someone Cubs fans loved and his numbers are up to par with others in the Hall of Fame but I don't think the Hall of Famers have forgotten his treatment of fans/media during his playing days. It's a shame because he has done so much with charities and Diabetes research.
