he end his career at the 30 february 2011
Michael Jordan won Rookie of the year at the end of his rookie year in 1985.
He was 40 years old when he retired. Michael Jordan was born February 17, 1963 and retired at the end of the 2002-2003 season.
In short, it was "Jordans" in Washington, DC. See "http://www.bizforward.com/wdc/issues/2002-05/account/" for info. He has also allowed his name to be licensed a couple of times. First, there was "Michael Jordan's Restaurant" in Chicago. It didn't end well. See "http://www.sportslawnews.com/archive/Articles%202000/MJRestaurantname.htm" for info. The main one that's still open (as far as I'm aware) is "Michael Jordan's Steakhouse," located at the Grand Central Terminal in New York City. See "http://www.opentable.com/rest_profile.aspx?rid=3125" for info. ~pS!~ He also owns "Michael Jordan's 23" in Chapel Hill, NC.
The reason for Michael Jordan leaving was because General Manager Jerry Krause and Coach Jackson resulted in Jackson's leaving Chicago. Though Jordan had earlier stated publicly that he would not play for any coach besides Jackson, Jordan explained his decision to retire by saying he had lost the drive and desire that was necessary to continue playing at such a high level, and that he wanted to spend more time with his family. When asked if there was a chance he would come back, Jordan said he was "99.9 percent" sure he would not. In the end he came back for a third time to play for the wizards, meaning that that 0.01 percent chance was right!
No. 3 pick by the Chicago Bulls. Played for them from the 1984-85 season to the 1992-93 season during which he led the Bulls to three straight titles from 1991 to 1993. After '93, he retired to play baseball in the midst of the murder of his father, James Jordan. Came back in time for the tail end of the '95 season on March 19, 1995 in a nationally televised against the Indiana Pacers. Shot 7 of 28 and scored 19 points. In his fith game, he dropped 55 points on the Knicks at Madison Square Garden. The Bulls lost in the semifinals that year in the playoffs 4 games to 2 to the Orlando Magic. Played from the 1995-96 season to the 1997-98 season and successfully led them to a second three-peat of titles. Retired in January 1999. Came back yet again in 2001, but this time he laced up for the Washington Wizards after serving in their office for a couple of years prior to that. Formally retired in 2003 and is now the VP of operations for the Charlotte Bobcats.

It was rtired as a sign of respect in the end of the year when Michael Jordan retired from the Chicago Bulls.
Michael Jordan played the shooting guard (2 guard) position. He was the best in his time, and will forever be the best at his position. Shooting guard - for the Chicago Bulls. and at the end of his career, for the Washington Wizards.
His career ended in June 26, 2009 when he died
Michael Jordans jersey isnt worth buying because she's not even good. The best bet is to buy a Kevin Durant jersey. By the end of kevin Durants career he have more than Michael Jordan will ever have. So go and get yourself a Kevin Durant jersey. :)

2008-2009 Kobe Bryant #24: Age 30:2,896 points 1993-1994 Michael Jordan #23: Age 30: Retired So Kobe Bryant scored more points than Michael Jordan at age 30 because Michael Jordan was retired.
He always had water balloon fights and water gun fights with children. He did once play basketball with Michael Jordan, but he lost in the end.
