YES!!!! Whatch the movie "Cobb" its based on a true story.

Yes and No. While Cobb's off-field fights with Black workers are often cited as proof of his overt racism, two points must be made. First, although I have no direct evidence, I feel it is not inconceivable that the nasty Mr. Cobb also had his share of off-field fights with White people, too. Fact is, Cobb's personality was such that race, or any other qualifier, probably didn't matter much when it came to defending his 'honor.' Second, and possibly more importantly, there is ample evidence of Cobb's vehement defense of Black ballplayers' right to play in the major leagues in the very early 1950's, when the issue was very much a hotly debated subject (remember, Jackie Robinson had just integrated MLB in 1947). Moreover, Mr. Cobb also personally funded, with probably $2M+, (plus public money, for which he lobbied the municipality), several community projects, including a hospital, that were built with his insistence on having both an integrated staff and serving an integrated clientele.

Finally, I think it's important that we get our history lessons from research, and not from the movies.
