There are a total of 4 Wild Card teams in Major League Baseball, 2 from the American League and 2 from the National League. The 2 Wild Card teams in each league have to play in a 1-game Playoff in order to determine the Wild Card team that will be advancing to play 1 of the Divisional Champions.

The 1997 Florida Marlins were the 1st wild card team from the National League to win the World Series. The 2002 California Angels were the 1st wild card series winner from the American League.

I have a mint MJ baseball Hologram card myself, and when it was last valued in 1996 it was worth at least $200.. so presuming yours is in mint cond too, then I'd imagine it'd be worth quite a bit now.
I am not sure what type of card you have, because of your description on the year (unlike baseball and football, basketball cards go by season, which is half-years, like 1995-96), company and make (upper deck and fleer metal are two different companies and two different makes), and any other info your card might have. I'm going to best guess, based on your card number (closest I found was PC5) was a 1995-96 Upper Deck SP Holoview Michael Jordan card, which booked $18-30 ten years ago, and was a hologram of four Jordan faces smiling at you as you rotated the card. If this is not the card you have, buy a Beckett Basketball Card Plus (card is probably too old to be listed in a regular issue Beckett Basketball), or just take the the card's description and search on eBay to see how much it is going for. Improvement: he's talking about the 1996 upperdeck 5x metal Micheal Jordan cards and they sell for about 100$ if there still in original wrappings original case etc.
A 1995 Upper Deck Collector's Choice Michael Jordan card number 500 has a book value of about $1.50 in near/mint -mint condition. Professionally graded cards will sell for more money than a non-graded card in the same condition. Condition is important. Common flaws with baseball cards include: rounded edges, creases, off centered, and faded color. Any or all flaws will devalue the card significantly.
In Major League Baseball, a wild card may be issued if two teams in both the American and the National league qualify for the postseason even though they did not win in their division.
Major League Baseball Wild Card was created in 1995.
Each league has five teams make the Playoffs. Each league has its teams broken into three divisions. The winning team of each division makes the Playoffs. The Wild Card teams are the teams with the 2 best records in their league during the Regular season that did not win a division.
because there is not a card for every player in the League
12, 6 from each league. 4 division winners and 2 wild card teams.
Colorado Rockies.
Two, 1 for each league.
They participate in the postseason playoffs by virtue of posting the best records among non-division winner. Each league has three division winners and one wild card compete for the chance to play in the World Series.
The wild card was introduced in 1995, with the team with the best record that did not win their division advancing to the playoffs. In 2012, another wild card was added with the top two teams playing a one-game playoff to advance to the next round.
Originally it was 8 total, 3 division winners from each league as well as 1 Wild Card winner for each league. The Wild Card winner is the team from each league that has the best record that did not win a division. However starting with the 2012 Playoffs, an additional Wild Card winner from both leagues will be added into the Playoffs so now a total of 10 teams can make the Playoffs.
At the end of the regular season, the winners of the 3 divisions in each league go on to the playoffs. Of the REMAINING teams in each league, the 2 teams with the best records are the WILD CARD teams. Each league has a Wild Card Playoff Game, from which the winner goes on to play one of the 3 division winners in the League Division Series.
