∙ 16y agoFor the same reason there are lots of additives in prepackaged food: to make the product more convenient and desirable. Cigarette additives:
*improve burning speed and consistency
*preserve the tobacco
*improve the flavor and texture of the smoke
*increase the volatility (and thus availability) of nicotine
All these benefits are immediately apparent to the consumer and increase cigarette sales. Unfortunately, many additives are also toxic or become toxic when burned.

However when these effects wear off our body will begin to crave it. This causes cigarettes to become addictive.

Why would cigarette makers make the addictive posionous?
It is all a scheme to get money from people who are addicted to cigarettes and find it too hard to stop. I don't believe that they make it poisonous on purpose, the thousands of chemicals the cigarettes contain just happen to be poisonous. Tobacco is in cigarettes and very harmful, but they know it is addictive (along with nicotine) so they put it in cigarettes anyway.

Please don't buy cigarettes at ALL. They have been responisible for killing many peoples' lives. Including babies and kids. I am not sure how much pall mall cigarettes are, so please think twice before buying a packet of cigarettes. They are really harmful to your body especially the lung and heart. The government should definitely stop selling cigarette packets in the shops.
Why do you think tobacco is so harmful while the claim is that marijuana has no long term health effects?
Cigarettes are smoked much more often than marijuana. Typically, a heavy smoker smokes from the moment of waking, to the time they go to sleep. This is not the case with marijuana smokers, (for the most part), especially nowadays when the quality of marijuana has improved so much. Because of the increased THC content, much less has to be smoked, making its use safer. Cigarettes are more harmful because more smoke is inhaled. Neither THC, nor nicotine, is per se harmful.
