Cricket and Baseball are two games that appear similar in many ways but bear a lot of differences between them when it comes to their game play, rules, field and the like.

Although balls used in cricket and baseball look alike, the cricket ball is heavier than the base ball. Cricket is played for two innings each side whereas baseball players play several innings.

The bat used in the game of baseball is round and it breaks often. On the other hand the bat used in the game of cricket is flat and strong and does not break often. It is true some of the well-made cricket bats last for decades.

The three major types of players in the game of baseball are batter, pitcher and the catcher. On the other hand the three important types of players in the game of cricket are the batsman, the bowler and the wicket-keeper.

The various positions taken by the players in the game of baseball are self explanatory. On the other hand the various positions taken by the players in the game of cricket are characterized by various names such as mid-off, mid-on, fine leg, deep fine leg, long leg, mid wicket, silly mid on, silly mid off, deep mid wicket, square leg, point, deep square leg, gully slip, leg slip, cover, extra cover, long on and long off.

The pitcher should not drop the ball or bounce the ball in front of the batter in the game of baseball. On the other hand the bowler has to bounce the ball in front of the batsman in the game of cricket.

A run is completed by the batsman in the game of cricket to increase the score of his team. On the contrary the term run in baseball means 'achievement'.

Croquet is the game in which you use a mallet to hit balls through a series of wire loops stuck in the lawn. Cricket might look a little like baseball at a quick glance, but there are no bases, the pitcher is called a bowler, and the bat is flat.

First the bat. That bat for base ball is round like a baton and has handle ending with a knob, while a cricket bat has a rounded handle on top with a flat wooden bottom. Next in Cricket the only person allowed to wear protective gear is the batsman, while in baseball many use a hard plastic helmet or shin guards and gloves. Also the field of a Cricket game is larger and there are only 2 umpires/referee's, while in baseball the field is a bit smaller and there tends to be about 4 umpires/referee's. 11 people are on a team playing cricket while 9 or 10 people are on a team playing baseball.

Baseball is also played in the round, whereas cricket is played in a field with a strip between 2 players both with bats, and they run up and down this, depending on how far the ball has been hit to. There are also cricket stumps, and the scores are taken down in a book....there is no resemblance between the games...baseball is more like the British game of rounders

Cricket uses a bat and hardly no feet, whereas soccer is all about feet (and chest at times, also head). The soccer field is significantly larger than any cricket field, due to the requirements to play soccer.

In baseball the ball does not bounce, but in cricket the ball usaly bounces. And cricket fast bowlers have a run up, but base ball pitchers do not.
