What are harshad phone numbers used for?

I asked Google the question, I was expecting the website that claims to have the answer to actually have an answer.

All I know is I keep getting junk phone calls from phone numbers all over, and most of the time when I google search the phone number, I find some stupid page that lists large blocks of phone numbers sequentailly. Some of those numbers are color coded to indicate they are a harshad number, which apparently is a mathematical concept.

What I cannot figure is why the digits comprising a telephone number would benefit from having some mathematical significance. Seems quite bizare to me.

A harshad phone number actually seems to be an illusion. If you google a phone number without spaces, ex:123456789 with the area code and press return, you have a good chance of it coming back a harshad number. That is because a Harshad number, or Niven number in a given number base, is an integer that is divisible by the sum of its digits when written in that base. If you then Retype the same number like this 123-456-789 you will come up with an entirely different search result. This seems to be for Indians and their cultural beliefs when it relates to numerology. I myself had typed a phone number in and it came back a harshad number. It also led me to a site that would tell me if that number was lucky or not and whether I would find wealth and happiness.lol. My husbands cell phone number came up as a harshad number when I typed it without spaces. That's because we live in the 951 area code. Short answer is that if you have a phone number odds are when you type it in on google without spaces, your number would come back a Harshad number.
