Tar damages the cilia which is in the lungs. The cilia are hairs in the lungs that protect from dust. The dust then escapes into the lungs and people struggle to breathe. It stains your teeth and fingernails yellow too

∙ 8y agoTar in smoking can stain the insides of your lungs and also stain your teeth and fingers. It can also stop you from being able to breathe. Not to mention smoking is bad and the tar includes over 4000 chemicals including rat poison, bleach and nail polish remover.

Tar is a major cause of emphysema and bronchitis. It also kills the cilia in the lining of the lungs. The more visible effects are discoloring of the teeth, fingernails, gum disease, mouth cancer and many more very dangerous effects.
