Well swimming poo is never a good thing, I mean it's bad enough if you catch one floating, but when you come across a poo that is actively swimming, you better jump out and run for it! (and this goes for saltwater or chlorine).

∙ 11y agoThe only disadvantage of a salt system is the initial cost. Other than that they are better in every way than adding chlorine to your pool. The level of chlorine in a typical salt pool is always lower, the water feels nicer. The chlorine that you add has additives (Caustic Soda for example) the salt systems do not. You will no longer have to buy, transport or store chlorine. On the long run a salt system will cost less to maintain than a typical chlorine pool.

From what I gather from reading the back of the bottle of Clarifier that I use in my pool a Clarifier is a Flocculent. The clarifier contains a polymer that attracts the smaller particles floating around in the pool that are too small to be filtered through some filtration systems. As the clarifier attracts the smaller particles it becomes large enough for the filtration system to filter it out of the water thus clariying the pool water.
