The iPod is a device made by Apple, just as a Mac computer is. The iPod, iPodTouch, iPhone, and iPads connect to the Mac with a USB cable. Depending on the age of the device, the cable may differ. Plug the device into the Mac using the Cable. They don't need to be 'installed' on the Mac.

Some i-pods are tricky. For some i-pods, when you connect them, you should make sure it's on the main menu with no music playing and the i-pod on 'sleep' otherwise it might get stuck.
(PS: this problem may only occur for the older i-pods)

∙ 13y agoIf you've genuinely bought the songs from iTunes Store to your iPod, you should be able to transfer purchases without any problems, as long as you authorize your new computer with the same iTunes account that you bought your songs with.
