To block a number, simply dial *60, then press the hash key. Once you hear the dial tone, type in the number that you wish to block, followed by the hash key. This will block the number.

∙ 10y agoThe VTech phone has the capability to block numbers of people you do not wish to speak with. To enable this ability, you select the blocking feature on the phone and store the numbers of the parties you wish to block there.
In the context of phones, it's just what it sounds like: a block, or set, of numbers set aside for the use of a particular provider. It simplifies the process of giving out new numbers if you know that, for example, all the numbers in a given exchange (the "middle set" of 3 numbers that follows the area code) are reserved for you and no other provider can give them out.
Call your phone company and ask them how to get the unwanted numbers blocked. Be aware that they will probably charge you a fee for blocking the numbers.

There is currently no way of doing this without concerning your carrier currently. But coming with iOS 7 (an update you can download this fall 2013), there will be a native way to block phone numbers.

Blocking the number has to be done through Verizon, so you would have to call them or log on to their website and block it in your account.
