It depends on the legislation at your location.
yeah because most places don't sell liquor and alcohol to minors and since you've turned 18 on your birthday you can be able to purchase one.
A child below 14 is will not be allowed any alcohol at all, and wont be allowed in the drinking area of the pub. 14-15 year olds are allowed anywhere in the pub, but cannot drink anything alcoholic. A 16-17 year old is allowed to have a drink of cider or beer with a table meal, but not at the bar, and it also must be bought for them.
In the UK they can have beer or wine in a pub if accompanied by a parent/adult (with their consent). I don't think there's a limit on the amount, but the pub/establishment does have a duty to ensure the wellbeing of it's customers (i.e cannot allow them to get really drunk). Also, the pub/establishment has the right to refuse service to anybody under 16 years.
Yes 16 yrs old for beer and cider only, when accompanied by a meal. 18 yrs for wine and spirits, with or without a meal.
Depends on your location - in the US, the legal age to consume alcohol beverages is 21.
It depends on the legislation of the country or state you are in. Some countries have no lower age limit and some countries ban it completely.

Quote: to legally work behind a pub bar and serve alchol you have to be 18 years old as when you are 18 you can drink alchoal /buy it legally in public.THIS IS NOT CORRECT.With supervision you can dispense alcohol at 16 years, as long as each sale is authorised by the DPS.
